Mobile Master Measuring Skid for Proving Single-phase Liquid Hydrocarbons

  • Single-phase mobile reference meter based on the KROHNE Coriolis mass flow meter.
  • Premium meter calibration according to API MPMS 4.5 on a UKAS ISO 17025 accredited calibration rig.
  • Reference meter utilizing the Indirect Master Meter Proving method as defined in API MPMS 4.5.
  • Compact and mobile system, easily accessible for any meter under test.

Background

This state-of-the-art, compact master meter, based on a Coriolis mass flow meter, is designed to prove existing metering systems across various installations throughout the entire production process, from upstream production to downstream distribution.

Measurement Requirements

A single metering system for proving metering systems within the 40 – 400 t/h range, including:

  • Measuring systems on pipelines (class 0.3)
  • Measuring systems on tank trucks (class 0.5)
  • Measuring systems for delivery in tank trucks, rail tanks, and barges (class 0.5)
  • Measuring systems for the supply of liquefied petroleum gas (class 1.0)

Main Request

In addition to the above requirements, the system must fulfill the requirements of API MPMS 4.5. This involves using the master meter at multiple operating rates and preparing a Master Meter Curve (MMF) for various flow rates to achieve the required uncertainty. The calibration of the master meter should result in an uncertainty of 0.029% or better at a 95% confidence level.

Additional Information

To achieve the required uncertainty in the specified flow range, WIG has decided to use the KROHNE mass flow meter, model OPTIMASS 2000 S150, with premium calibration.

Additionally, for the completion of the project, the following high-accuracy transmitters were used:

  • Pressure transmitter
  • Temperature transmitter
  • Density meter L-Dens 417T Ex, Anton Paar
