RECONSTRUCTION OF METERING LINES

Introduction

Client's request was to reconstruct 4 metering lines in truck loading/unloading facility with minimal shut-down intervals. Scope of the task was to reconstruct metering lines used for the fiscal measurement of oil/petroleum products transferred, in accordance with the relevant legal regulations.

Description

New metering lines were designed to meet requirements and recommendations of applicable standards and regulations, both local and international (MID DIRECTIVE 2014/32/EU, OIML R 117 recommendation, ATEX 94/94/EC standard...). Equipment installed on the metering lines was selected according to Type Approval DE-10-MI005-PTB010 for the measuring system, used for obtaining a local Type Approval Certificate.

The Scope of the Reconstruction:

  • Equipment installed according to MID DIRECTIVE 2014/32/EU and Type Approval DE-10-MI005-PTB010
    • Installation of air separator on four metering lines
    • Installation of mass flow meters on four metering lines
    • Installation of Pt-100 sensors on four metering lines,
    • Installation of flow computer
  • Reconstruction and adjustment of the existing pipeline and installation of new equipment
  • Installation of overfill prevention system in truck tanks
  • Modernization of the Terminal system management - TAS

Planning and preparation process, reconstruction of existing pipelines, cable units, installation of new equipment and management system modernization was executed with a minimal shut-down time of the loading/unloading terminal. The following equipment was installed:

  • Equipment according to MID DIRECTIVE 2014/32/EU and Type approval DE-10-MI005-PTB010
    • Air separator by Hydro-Carbon
    • Mass flow meter KROHNE OPTIMASS 6400 S100, accuracy > ±0,05%
    • Flow computer TOPTECH Multi-Load II with corresponding number of modules for all metering lines within the loading/unloading terminal.
  • Overfill prevention system OPW CIVACON 8800E, with ground verification.

Now, upon the successful completion of the reconstruction, Client’s unloading/loading terminal has modern, high accuracy metering systems, certified both according to European and local regulations and increased safety levels.
